This collection of newly remastered versions (2008) includes tracks from 5 sessions by The Dunlaps: 1985, ‘86, ‘87, ‘88 and 2005. All tracks except “Moments had” (2005) were originally recorded direct to stereo cassettes under relatively primitive recording conditions. Tracks 3, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12 and 14 were spontaneous improvisations recorded in single takes with no overdubs (there was a bit of subsequent remixing done to the beginning of “Abridged”). On the other tracks overdubs were improvised and mixed “on the fly” while copying from one cassette deck to another. In some cases (trks 1 & 5) additional accompaniments were pre-recorded or sequenced (using samplers’ on-board sequencers) and flown into the mix live while improvising. The percussion on trk 1 was recorded to 2 short answering-machine cassette loops of different lengths. “Moments had” was recorded in 2 improvised takes to 4-trk cassette multi-track then treated and remixed by RDunlap in digital software. “To Walk a Thousand Lands” was originally an RDunlap solo recording, overdubbed with sax and additional percussion by The Dunlaps.

RDunlap: synthesizer, sampler, guitar (trks 5 & 6), percussion.
Flies: buzzing the mic (trk 2).
Brothers Richard (RDunlap) and Frank-o Dunlap live in different states and don’t see each other often, but over the years have come together for a few recording sessions, mostly during the second half of the ‘80s but also as recently as 2005. The Dunlaps have explored improvisation and production in an experimental, jazz-influenced avant-garage proto-post-rock sort of style. RDunlap is also known for his avant-garde remix and collage project dadala, PcOnTrApTiOn (eclectic alternative electronica collaboration with Johann Meier of Jopy) and his own solo work. Other recordings by The Dunlaps have been incorporated into a number of dadala tracks.

Tanja Dovens, born on Sep5,1975 and living in Berlin, received a classical piano-training at the music-academy in Hamburg plus education in composition and audition. At the age of 13 she already developed her own compositions in classical minimal-music that still plays an important role in her musical activities nowadays. In December 2006 the first computer-compositions involving music-software, VST-plug-ins and VST-instruments were developed. Tanja D. likes to integrate noise-recordings of everyday life (ventilation-systems, tubes, etc.) as well as lyrics and her own voice. After having tested various styles of electronic music (e.g. minimal techno) she soon discovered the experimental electronic style and dark-ambient-genre. Currently she mainly concentrates on experimental dark-ambient-soundscapes and production of surreal sounds accompanying visual artworks. Inspired by the established project Exurban founded by the artist ADAMNED.AGE, she began to deal with the photographic/visual realisation of experimental contents and ex-urban rooms as basis for musical soundscapes. The most important aspect is the audiovisuality reference in her works; associative journeys through abstract, irreal and phantastic worlds or experienced events.

Producción artistica: Trío Argentino de Bajos
El Trío Argentino de Bajos se forma en el año 2002 siendo esta una agrupación única en el mundo de solo tres bajos eléctricos. Actúan en el circuito de jazz de Buenos Aires. En el año 2003 sacan su primer CD “Partamos de una base” presentándolo en La Manufactura Papelera. Luego realizan un ciclo de presentaciones todos los viernes durante tres meses en el desaparecido Design bar de Barracas. Viajan a Río Gallegos donde realizan una serie de conciertos y clínicas de improvisación musical en el marco de la feria del libro organizada por la municipalidad de esa ciudad. Luego se convierten en artistas del staff de El Anden conocido reducto jazzero de San Telmo donde tocan un año presentándose casi todos los fines de semana. También realizan diversas actuaciones, clínicas y master class en diferentes ciudades del interior. En el 2004 aparece su segundo CD ¿Alguien está contando? Presentándolo en el céntrico teatro Espacio Abierto. Son frecuentemente invitados a realizar conciertos en colegios secundarios de la Capital. También se presentan en el marco del Encuentro Internacional de Economía Social organizado por la facultad de Ciencias Sociales y en el 3er festival organizado por el departamento de juventud de la Municipalidad de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, “Culturarte Juvenil. Participaron en los festivales Solo Bajo en las ediciones 2002, 2003 y 2004. En el 2006 editan su tercer álbum "Los 4 elementos" siendo esta una obra conceptual por donde pasean por diferentes estilos pasando del R&B y el latín jazz a música contemporánea y la improvisación libre. Realizan la presentación del CD en Septiembre con dos conciertos a sala llena en el teatro La Salita (Congreso) Presentan su último trabajo “EL ORDEN DE LOS BAJOS NO ALTERA EL PRODUCTO”, cuarto disco del grupo, por capital e interior como Bahia Blanca, Lomas de Zamora, Capital Federal, Avellaneda, Moreno, Francisco Alvarez y la presentación oficial en el Festival Solo Bajo Bs. As. 2008

All tracks were composed and played in all instruments by Humberto Luis Schenone, using udu drums, clay pots, kalimbas, talking drums, surdo, shekere, djembé, congas, bongó, whistles and different kinds of bells.
The album was recorded at "Living Records Studios" of Barrio Velez Sarsfield, Buenos Aires, Argentina, during November-December 2008.
Humberto Luis Schenone was born in the British Hospital of Buenos Aires on september 6th 1955. Since his childhood had some school trouble for his pleasure of beating over anything making “candombe-batucada”. But first steps in music were in his teens singing and playing guitar in folk and rock groups. Dedicated to other kind of professional activities after university years and to study Spanish guitar with jazz &tango player Claudio Gomez. But it was many years later, in 1990, when he assumed his role as percussionist in music, after different periods travelling and living in Brazil.. He settled in a house 30 kms away from Buenos Aires where he built his first “percussion-room” and started his studies of afro-american rhythms. His teachers in the art of percussion were Bam Bam Miranda, Abdoulaye Badiane, Ricky Olarte, Pocho Porteño, Hugo Nuñez among others. He has been part of several bands related with afro-percussion, bossa nova, samba, salsa, rock, south-american folk, tango, etc. Nowadays, again living in B.A. , is part of a duet with 6-string bass player Hector Pegullo and a Bossa & Samba Trio directed guitar player Cesar Blondet and participates as guest musician in other groups.
